Vellsam Academy is back in the classroom: the challenges of greenhouse tomatoes
With the new school year, Vellsam Academy resumes its training activity. On September 18 we held Technical Training Sessions at our facilities in Tabernas (Almería), focused on one of the most important crops in Almería’s farmland: greenhouse tomatoes.
Healthy soil, the foundation of the crop
The day began with a welcome breakfast and went straight into the challenges facing agricultural soils today. The program covered the role of microbiology and organic matter in soil health, and the care practices that help maintain soil fertility and productive capacity season after season.
Seaweed and sustainable tomato management
The second part of the session focused on the technical fundamentals of seaweed-based fertilization and on sustainable crop management with Vellsam’s solutions for tomatoes. Attendees were able to ask questions about their practical use in the greenhouse and learn how to integrate them into their nutrition strategy to improve yield and production efficiency.
A training cycle that keeps going
This session follows on from those held in July. On July 14 we launched Vellsam Academy with talks on soil health and applied microbiology, and on July 30 we took a closer look at soil microbiota, organic matter and the management of tomatoes and cucumbers.
Next date: October 2
Vellsam Academy is leaving Tabernas. On October 2, our technical and scientific staff will deliver a training day at a client’s facilities for its technical team. The program includes:
- Microbiology and organic matter.
- Technical fundamentals of biostimulation and its role in precision nutrition.
- Soil care and regeneration strategies.
- Sustainable crop management with Vellsam products.
All of this with practices aligned with Spain’s Sustainable Nutrition Law and geared towards more efficient, environmentally friendly agriculture.
Vellsam Academy will remain a meeting point between research and the field. We will announce upcoming sessions on our channels.
